The
Superimposers
CD SD 135
Release Date: August 2005
The Superimposers debut
album, released on Valentine’s Day is
a collection of their first four 7” releases
to date with a couple of bonus tracks thrown
in for good measure. Each single sold out almost
immediately and this album provides the chance
for a much wider audience (or those without
record decks) to enjoy the wondrous and mesmerising
beauty of their music.
Over the past 18 or so months the Superimposers
have gone quietly about their business releasing
singles, playing some low key acoustic gigs
and enlisting a growing number of devoted followers.
These include the like of Giles Peterson, Sean
Rowley, Rob Da Bank, Chris Coco and Mark and
Lard.
Rough Trade have championed the band from the
release of the first single and the album is
currently their “Album of the Month”.
Wall of Sound and Jazzanova have both licensed
tracks for their recent “We love you,
so love us 3” and “Secret Love”
compilations respectively.
And with Q Magazine giving the album 4/5, calling
it “a timeless album to treasure”
and a host of other fantastic reviews from Time
Out, Mojo, DJ Mag through to broadsheets like
the Independent and the Observer, the Superimposers
star keeps rising.
Their sound is unique with echoes of the summer
pop of The Beach Boys, the 60’s psychedelia
of David Axelrod or the blue eyed soul of Shuggie
Otis whilst remaining thoroughly modern in the
vein of Air or The Beta Band.
Their full studio debut will be released later
this year. Look Out!
