Loss
Of The Badman
12"
Release Date: 19.06.2006
Tommy Yamaha and Martin
Kaisa are back on the block. The newest single
release out of their album „Being In A
Boygroup“ provides once again the finest
electro-funk-food for the Clubs.
„Loss Of The Badman“
made by The Strike Boys is highly impressive
by it’s dirty guitar-riffs and catchy
melodies, which are really drilling into your
ears. Together with a rhythm that makes your
legs want to dance within seconds involuntarily,
it is a nearly hypnotic mix that will be served
by many DJs to let the crowd freak out.
This track is not just another „OneNightStand-ClubHit“.
”Loss Of The Badman“ wil also
be part of the new MINI (BMW) campaign.
The second stroke of genius
from The Strike Boys on the12” is called
„Heart On Fire“. This ultra –
danceable „Bass-Bomb“ is garnished
with nice vocals from Tommy Yamaha himself.
Besides the original versions there are two
exclusive remixes on the 12“:
The first one is from „Malente“
(Unique Records), the worldwide acting DJ
and Producer, who already made remixes for
artists like Louie Austen, DJ Friction, Groove
Rebels, Thomilla, Bob Sinclar, Monosourround,
Rocko Schamoni, Le Hammond Inferno to name
just a few. „Malente“ shows with
his version of „Heart On Fire“,
that there are still some producers (unfortunately
an exception), who handle a remix with the
same care as if it was one of their own tracks,
not only wanting the quick credibility.
Remix No. 2 is an extraordinary
cover from the very successful band „Kate
Mosh“ from Berlin who recently finished
their sold-out club-tour. This version transports
„Heart On Fire“ up to the Indie-Pop-Rock-Style
and is proving, that this track even works
with handplayed instruments.

Being
in a Boygroup
CD SD139
DLP 139-3
Release Date: 19.06.2006
Tommy Yamaha and Martin
Kaisa are The Strike Boys and as such they have
never been friends of one-dimensional grooves.
Already their magnificent eclectic debut “Selected
Funks” (which was released on the ground
breaking breakbeat label Wall of Sound in 1998)
leads from old school electro to digital-dub
and soul/funk. A mixture in which they combine
superb guest-vocals that transform their tracks
into catchy hits with fresh melodic style. Since
then they kept their mix of genres as a trademark.
Also on their second album “Grapefruit
Flavoured GreenTea Time” and on their
last masterpiece “Playtime” The
Strike Boys stroke against any border and so
they fuse reggae, funk, breakbeat, house and
electro in their unique way. The roots of their
tracks have been mostly dub, with heavy hitting
bass pressure that gives a kind of signature
to the two boys from Nuremberg. For this, the
club goers love them all around the planet from
China to America. Their singles went to the
top of the dance charts in diverse countrys
and their remixes for artists like Bounty Killer,
Tom Jones or Carl Douglas showed how well they
can work an original sound into a inimitable
Strike-Boys-Tune.
Now the South-German studio nerds catch new
adventures with their fresh album “Being
In A Boygroup”. Firstly, they almost dropped
their trademark of dub. But why look back when
the future already is perfectly written? Now
they don’t tranquilize with dub, but they
fire the dance floor with synthetic beats, dirty
indie rock-hooks, rough screams and cool digital
grooves. For this they write POP in big letters
and even Strike Boy, Tommy Yamaha, for the first
time in the long history of the duo, grabs the
mic. But it is not only his timbre that elevates
the compact energising tracks to something more
then just an ordinary functional club track.
Also guests like Thomas Lang, singer of the
German indie rock sensation The Robocop Kraus,
Earl Zinger (the man also known as Rob Galliano)
and Chris Corner, charismatic front man of IAmX,
transform the tunes with their vocals to songs
that last longer than a club season. All this
on top of a wild mixture of rhythms winding
between disco, electro, house, rock and even
a little reggae-riddim.
As a boy-group you should have more then one
facet to keep your style fresh and irresistible.
This is now the fourth time that The Strike
Boys have achieved this in their own eclectic
modern musical language.

Playtime
CD SD 113-2
Release Date: 09.02.2004
On the third album “Playtime” Tommy
and Martin take it all another step further.
Of course conceptionally staying close to the
“eclectic” Strike Boys Style of
the second album, but also showing how they
have moved forward technically and artistically.
This is immediately evident from the very beginning
on the opening “Playtime Theme”
full of groove and deep-bass. The Strike Boys
don’t just stand by an uninteresting mix
of beats, klicks, beeps and samples like so
many others. The Strike Boys through “Playtime”
want to communicate through a common languge
a story of organic grooves…The Boys want
that the listner feel tickled all over from
head to toe. Stimulating allover with a blend
of pure groove, funk, electro dub and soul.
The artist collaboratins on
“Playtime” are by no means accidental
or unplanned. “i am a witness”
hails Danish Soul-Reggae-Dub sensation “EMO”
straight from the Stereo Deluxe family who
understands with ease the nonchalant vibe
The Strike Boys personify.
“everybody” and “free”
take us by surprise with a fine mixture toastin,
rap and featuring “MC Blaze”,
we experience a lucious journey through a
top stylee blend of Dub-Dancehall, Breakbeat
& House. “MC Blaze”, a deservedly
confident 21 year old is truly astounding
and makes herself heard. Pulling the listner
further in, as she has already proved time
again with Roni Size or the indigenous “Ninja
Tune” formation “Up, Bustle and
Out”.
Eddie Green who also appeared
on “Grapefruit Flavoured Gree Tea Time”
with his distinctive souly vocals, contributes
once again on “it’s on you”
souly vocals and a distinctive funky Breakbeat,
which must be a real club hit in anyones book.
Last but by no means least
Cyrena Dunbar. Cyrena hails from Calgary and
completed her studies at the Alberta Ballet
School of Dance.and now is a member of the
Ballet Nuernberg. More known then for her
dancing abilities takes us all by surprise
with her beautiful vocals on “find my
way” and “outer space”.
This young lady has a great future.

grapefruit
flavoured green tea time
CD SD 113-2
Release Date: 02.04.2002
One, two, strike! Ladies and gentlemen, here
are the STRIKE BOYS. Wheeling and dealing, moving
and grooving, this polyphonic funkster duo will
blow your whistle. The STRIKE BOYS second album
"Grapefruit Flavoured Green Tea Time"
has it all: brazil type rockers, soulful boogie
shakers, smooth house tunes, laidback downtempo
fluffies and much much more.
It´s like on a perfect night out in a
club where a fabulous eclectic DJ takes you
on a musical journey through vibe music. The
wide range of flavours on "Grapefruit Flavoured
Green Tea Time" comes deep from the heart.
You´ll hear that STRIKE BOYS members Tommy
Yamaha and Martin Kaiser have been making music
since quite a while. In fact, it´s been
more than a decade.
Martin Kaiser learned violin and played guitar
in an indie band in the 80s, Tommy Yamaha has
been DJ’ing since the late 80s. They met
for the first time in 1990 and in 1994 the two
released their first jointly produced singles.
Under various monikers they´ve put out
a diverse range of releases from rocking rave
tunes to dope breaks in various shapes.Yes,
call them versatile, the STRIKE BOYS know no
boundaries and no stylistic limits.
Today, the STRIKE BOYS, hailing from the Northern
Bavarian town of Nuremberg (where we from Stereo
Deluxe are also located at) look back to an
impressive set of releases. Most prominently
were their releases on UKs No.1 breakbeat label
Wall Of Sound, notably the "Selected Funks"
album and a few singles that received huge critical
acclaim from magazines such as "Muzik",
"DJ" and "Mixmag", and were
all a big success in the UK and abroad.
("There are gems to be had for DJ’s
though." DJ-Magazine, "The Strike
Boys stay on course, because they understand
that the best funk is about the waist down."
Muzik).
While their first album featured a more electronic
edge, for their new album "Grapefruit Flavoured
Green Tea Time" the STRIKE BOYS turned
to a more funky and eclectic sound.
